US President-elect Joe Biden said that America seems to be on track for the first coronavirus immunisation to begin by late December-early January. Biden’s statement comes in the wake of experimental Covid-19 vaccines developed by pharma giants Pfizer and Moderna showing promising results in the clinical trials.

“There has been a significant record-breaking progress made recently in developing a vaccine and several of these vaccines look extraordinarily effective. It happens to be on track for the first immunisation to begin by late December-early January,” US President-elect Joe Biden said while delivering a Thanksgiving address.

Former vice president to Barack Obama, Democrat Joe Biden clinched victory in the US Presidential elections by securing 306 Electoral College votes against outgoing Republican President Donald Trump’s 232.

Referring to his administration’s coronavirus vaccine plane, US President-elect Joe Biden during his Thanksgiving address, “We will need to put in place a distribution plan to get the entire country immunised as soon as possible, which we will do, but it is going to take time.”

“We need to remember: We’re at war with a virus – not with each other,” Joe Biden said in a tweet on Wednesday. In another tweet, he went on to say, “The challenge before us right now is immense – we need bold action to fight this pandemic. That’s why @KamalaHarris and I are getting right to work preparing to get this virus under control.”

Meanwhile, outgoing US President Donald Trump pardoned former national security advisor Micheal Flynn. Flynn had pled guilty of lying to the FBI about his Russia contacts.
