Me Too movement: AMMA supports Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan, regrets Siddique’s statement

It came to light recently that Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes’ secretary Siddique had called a press conference where he had slammed Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan for walking out of their films. Now, the movie body has responded to this and has countered their secretary’s statement.

The official spokesperson of AMMA Jagdeesh was quoted as saying that the organization is in full support of the two Bollywood actors for boycotting the projects after the reports of sexual harassment came out. Then he said that the conference that Siddique had convened was without the body’s permission and that they regret his statements. He concluded his statement by saying that it was necessary to clear the misunderstanding with Bollywood.

For the uninitiated, Akshay Kumar had cancelled the shoot of ‘Housefull 4’ after director Sajid Khan was accused of sexual harassment by several women. Similarly, Aamir Khan had walked out of ‘Mogul’ after filmmaker Subhash Kapoor was accused in a similar vein.
